    Battery charging and energy systems

    Reliably provide power and charge batteries as required

    For battery-powered applications, AL-KO VT offers a range of solutions for charging, power supply and battery management.

    The BC222 is a 22 A switch-mode battery charger for 12 V batteries and supports lead-acid, gel, AGM, and LiFePO4 batteries. Different charging algorithms allow the device to be customised for the respective battery type. In addition to battery charging, the BC222 can also be used as a power supply unit.

    For applications where a battery is to be charged from another power source during operation, the DC/DC converters NE325-25A and NE325-40A are also available. They provide a maximum output current of 25 or 40 A and support various battery technologies.

    Control and operating panels

    Centrally control functions and clearly record operating states

    Control and operating panels are the interface between the user and the electronic system. Depending on the model, various electrical functions can be controlled and important operating information displayed centrally.

    The range includes systems with LED, LCD and touch operation. Depending on the system, battery status, tank fill levels, and temperatures can be recorded, and various consumers and electrical functions can be controlled.

    Power distribution and electrical protection

    Reliably distribute power to consumers and system components

    Reliable power distribution is the basis for more complex electrical systems. Distribution units supply power to connected loads and can simultaneously combine fuse and protection functions.

    With components such as DL30, DS300 and NE356, various 12 V distribution units are available for different system configurations.

    In addition, the portfolio includes different fuse holders, blade and strip fuses, relays, battery isolators and busbars. This enables power paths to be built up and secured according to each individual electrical requirement.

    Sensors and measurement components

    Record states and make relevant system data available

    Sensors and measurement components provide the data required for monitoring and controlling electronic systems. Depending on the application, for example temperatures, tank fill levels, battery voltages or electric currents can be recorded.

    The portfolio includes temperature sensors as well as various fresh water and waste water tank probes. These include, for example, SP5, SP5/40, FT5/40, SPE and SS/P as well as the corresponding connection cables.

    For battery system monitoring, the AM500 shunt is also available. It measures currents up to 500 A and enables calculation of, among other things, current consumption, state of charge, state of health and remaining battery run time.

    Bus and communication systems

    Connect electronic components within a system

    In more complex electronic architectures, various controllers, sensors and other components need to communicate with each other. Bus-based systems enable this data exchange and can also help to structure wiring and installation within the respective application.

    With components such as the ICL12 Gateway as well as various CL-BUS connections and connection cables, building blocks for networking electronic system components are available.

    This enables information to be exchanged within the system architecture and functions to be linked to one another.

    Inverters and power supplies

    Supply 230 V loads from a 12 V system

    For applications where 230 V alternating voltage is to be provided from a 12 V DC supply, the portfolio includes sine wave inverters of the ERP series.

    The devices produce a pure sine wave output and are therefore also suitable for sensitive loads. Depending on power requirements, variants are available with continuous outputs from 300 to 3,000 W. The product family includes, among others, ERP300, ERP600, ERP1500, ERP2000-IVT and ERP3000-IVT RCD.

    Protective functions, including overload, short-circuit and over-temperature protection, help to ensure reliable operation. Depending on the model, functions for switching between mains and inverter operation are also available.

    Battery management

    Integrate multiple batteries intelligently into a power system

    With the BDS200, AL-KO VT offers an electronic solution for managing two 12 V service batteries. The integrated microprocessor coordinates the batteries during both charging and discharging.

    Batteries of different capacities or ages can also be used. The system monitors each battery and can isolate a faulty battery. In addition, a battery protection function helps prevent excessive discharging.

    The MC-180 control panel is available for operation. This enables switching between automatic and manual operation.

    Dimmer and lighting control

    Demand-oriented lighting control

    The DLS200 enables electronic brightness control of various 12 V lamps. Connected switches can be used to switch lighting on and off and to dim it.

    The device supports up to eight lighting channels and a maximum power of 200 W. Short-circuit and over-temperature protection are integrated.

    Cables, connectors and system accessories

    Reliably connect and integrate components

    Various cable, connector and accessory solutions are available for integrating individual electronic components. These include control cables, sensor cables, cable sets, connectors, fuses, relays, and other components for building electrical systems.

    Suitable cables and wires are used, for example, to connect the control panel, power distribution unit, tank sensors, temperature sensors, and gateway.

    The range also includes various 12 V components such as connectors, USB sockets, fuse holders, battery isolators and power distributors.

    An industrial electronic solution often does not consist of a single component. What is crucial is the interaction between power supply, control, power distribution, sensor technology, communication, and wiring.
