An apprenticeship at AL-KO VT combines specialist knowledge with practical experience in the company. Depending on your interests and strengths, you can choose between commercial, IT-related or technical apprenticeships.

During your apprenticeship, you will get to know the tasks of your future profession from the ground up, work with colleagues from the relevant departments, and, as you gain experience, take on your own responsibilities with increasing independence.

    Commercial Apprenticeship

Few apprenticeships are as varied as that of an industrial clerk – with the commercial and business management skills you gain here, you can work in almost any area of a company!

During your 3-year apprenticeship, you will, for example, get to know purchasing operations and receive all the skills you need to independently place orders and manage inventory.

To ensure the promised variety isn’t just a promise, we’ll also show you how to advise customers, monitor incoming payments, post invoices and process customer complaints.

Perhaps you’d like to work in HR one day? No problem with our apprenticeship – here you’ll learn how to support employees and manage payroll.

Of course, your apprenticeship wouldn’t be complete if you didn’t also regularly use modern IT tools and get to know international business dialogue – your future is in the best possible hands with us!

Can you imagine a company that functions well without IT nowadays? Neither can we! That's why, during your 3-year apprenticeship, we prepare you for every IT challenge – now and in the future!

You'll learn how to give technical advice to our employees, identify specific requirements for hardware and software systems during conversations, and realise these in customised solution concepts.

We'll show you not only how to plan, implement and configure complex IT systems, but also how to train end users to use them.

Over the course of your apprenticeship, you'll become a true IT professional so you can provide support to users facing application problems and complex issues as an invaluable contact person.

    Technical Apprenticeship

Whether online giant, metal workshop or hospital: no business works without a warehouse – during your 3-year apprenticeship you’ll experience our distribution logistics and become a sought-after specialist for almost any company.

You’ll learn how to receive and check goods and store them optimally so that they are available exactly when needed.
Which goods, by which means of transport, at what time, by which route? We’ll show you how to plan transport perfectly and also how to produce all the necessary accompanying documents.

Of course, you’ll also discover how to use modern warehouse systems, so you’ll be perfectly prepared for work in all kinds of storage environments.
The safety of our teams always comes first: we’ll train you in all relevant safety regulations and show you how to prevent accidents and create a safe working environment.

How do you turn a piece of metal into new vehicle frames, chassis, axles and thousands of other things needed worldwide every day? We’ll show you during your apprenticeship!

Over the next 2 years, you’ll learn how to cut, shape and weld sheet metal to create all kinds of construction components.
We’ll make you a true expert in working with modern soldering and welding equipment, so you can join your finished parts into complete structures.

Of course, we’ll also teach you how to read technical documentation and use it to select the right work steps, tools and machines.
Since your finished products must also meet all quality standards, you’ll learn how to check your results, what signs indicate faults and how to avoid them as easily as possible.

Whether automotive, medical or food production: all industries today rely on a wide range of machinery – we’ll show you how you can become an essential specialist!
But what does an industrial mechanic actually do?

They typically monitor manufacturing processes, identify and fix faults or malfunctions and check the quality of manufactured products.
During your 3.5-year apprenticeship, our helpful teams will teach you everything you need to know about machines and manufacturing systems – including how to build, set up and maintain them.

You’ll learn to plan, control and optimise productive workflows from A to Z, ensuring important workpieces and components are produced at the end of the process.
Manual or automated? During your training, you’ll become an expert in state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques and operate CNC machines and equipment with ease – even optimising programmes along the way.

Wherever production is taking place, machine and plant operators are never far away – and for good reason, because without their knowledge production would grind to a halt.

During your 2-year apprenticeship, we’ll ensure you’re able to set up, adjust and operate machines and plant independently, making you an indispensable part of any production team.

Along the way, you’ll also learn how to commission, check and service machines and plant more independently as time goes by.
You’ll understand the importance of good preparation and experience how smoothly production runs when you plan work steps thoroughly and check machine functions in advance.

By the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll have a thorough understanding of modern production and know exactly how to manage material flows while keeping an eye on quality.

As an invaluable link between industrial mechanics and industrial electronics, mechatronics technicians ensure machines and plant run smoothly – would you like to be one of them?

During your 3.5-year apprenticeship, you’ll gain in-depth insights into electronics, mechanics and control technology, and learn the details of how modern machines and plant work.

We’ll of course provide you with all the necessary skills to analyse, install, commission and also maintain complex systems once you’ve qualified.

You’ll learn not only how to identify technical faults but also how to fix them independently.
With the programming skills you develop for production machinery and robots, you’ll be in high demand as a specialist!

The phases alternate between three months of theory at university and three months of practice in various company departments. During the dual study programme, you’ll already receive a salary.

Would you like to combine the best of both worlds – theory and practice? In your 6-semester degree in cooperation with the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University Heidenheim, you can do just that!

Each of your semesters is split into three months of theory at university and three months of practical experience in our various business areas – so you can put your newly acquired knowledge into practice right away.

During your degree, you’ll gain in-depth knowledge in business and personnel management, controlling, supply chain management and, of course, accounting and scientific work.
Unlike a regular degree, you will receive a salary during your dual studies and begin your career with a significant advantage in practical experience.

Not interested in choosing between theory and practice, but prefer to have the best of both? With your 6-semester degree in cooperation with the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University Heidenheim, you get both!

During your studies, you’ll learn how to plan, develop and even market technical products, but also how to approach technical issues from a business perspective (and vice versa).

As an industrial engineer, you are not only the interface between technology and sales, but combine skills from both areas, acquiring important engineering and business management competencies.

Each semester is split into three months of theory at university and three months of practical work in our various business areas – allowing you to put what you learn into practice right away.
As opposed to a traditional degree, during your dual study programme you’ll already receive a salary and enter your future career with a significant head start in hands-on experience.

After 3 years of “tuning” in your dual study course, you’ll be ready to get off to a flying start. In alternating three-month learning phases, you’ll master theory at DHBW Heidenheim and practical application with us.

Soon you’ll be able to comprehend and analyse corporate decision-making processes holistically.

These are excellent foundations for working on our various cross-departmental projects.
You’ll develop and realise innovative IT solutions in interdisciplinary teams, and can rely on the support of experienced colleagues. This means you’ll soon know exactly what’s important in our internationally oriented business and everyday work.
