Custom electronic solutions for recreational vehicles

AL-KO VT supplies components for building the electrical systems of recreational vehicles. For OEMs, custom 12 V and 230 V systems can be developed and implemented to match the requirements of the individual vehicle concept.

In addition to bespoke solutions, standard kits are an option for small-series and specialist vehicle manufacturers. Depending on the application, different components can be combined into a tailored electrical system.

A reliable power supply is a key requirement for the onboard electronics of modern recreational vehicles. AL-KO VT offers a range of battery and charging solutions.

Charge controllers can, for example, charge the battery via the towing vehicle, an existing PSU or a solar panel. Various charging currents, inputs and functions are available depending on the version.

This allows the power supply and further electrical functions to be matched precisely to the individual vehicle concept.

Power distribution units perform key functions within the onboard electronics. AL-KO VT combines this with lighting controls and other switching elements.

Connections that would otherwise be realised using screw or terminal connectors can be brought together on PCBs. This simplifies wiring throughout the recreational vehicle.

Power distribution units and lighting controls can be modular or designed as a central control unit.

Control panels are the central user interface for onboard electronics. AL-KO VT designs and manufactures panels in a variety of formats and with different technologies.

Depending on the vehicle and operating concept, LED, LCD or touchscreen panels can be used. State-of-the-art displays can be used to control various vehicle functions, such as heating, ventilation or air conditioning.

Tank levels, temperatures and information on the power supply can also be integrated into the control concept.

Bus systems allow controllers, sensors, actuators and control panels to communicate within the recreational vehicle. AL-KO VT develops both traditional electrical systems and bus-based solutions.

A particular focus is on the CI-Bus. The interface makes it possible to integrate a variety of functions into an overarching operating concept. Depending on the system, these can be controlled via a master panel or smartphone.

Bus-based system nodes can also be equipped with microprocessors. Depending on the application, they can perform the role of sensor, actuator or data storage unit.

Sensors provide important information for monitoring and control of the recreational vehicle. AL-KO VT supplies temperature sensors and tank probes for water tanks among other options.

Tank probes can be designed to fit different tank shapes. Temperature sensors can, for example, measure inside and outside temperatures or perform switching functions in the heating area.

The recorded data can then be integrated into control and display systems.

AL-KO VT develops and manufactures wiring harnesses specifically for recreational vehicles. Working together with the vehicle manufacturer, the required wiring kits and components are defined.

The spectrum ranges from simple connections to complete wiring harnesses. Wiring kits can be designed for different vehicle layouts. AL-KO VT also supports the selection of components and the required documentation.

Two specialised production plants are available for the manufacture of wiring harnesses.

Not every vehicle project has the same requirements for electronics. Large-scale production requires different solutions to small-series or specialist vehicles.

AL-KO VT can supply both custom-developed systems for OEMs and standard kits for small-series and specialist vehicle manufacturers. Components, wiring and control concepts can be assembled to match the particular application.
