    Apprenticeship at AL-KO VT

Learn, participate and take on responsibility step by step

An apprenticeship at AL-KO VT combines specialist knowledge with practical experience in the company. Depending on your interests and strengths, you can choose between commercial, IT-related or industrial-technical apprenticeships.

During your apprenticeship, you will learn the tasks of your profession from the ground up, work together with colleagues from the relevant departments, and, as you gain experience, gradually take on more independent tasks.

    Commercial apprenticeship

There are few apprenticeships as varied as industrial clerk — with the commercial and business-management skills you gain here, you will later be able to work in almost any company department!

During your 3-year apprenticeship, you’ll get to know, for example, order management and will be equipped with all the skills you need to place orders and schedule goods independently in the future.

To ensure our promise of diversity is more than just words, we’ll also show you how to advise customers, monitor incoming payments, post invoices, and deal with customer complaints.

Thinking about working in HR in the future? No problem with our training — here you will learn how to support staff and manage payroll and salary accounting.

Of course, your apprenticeship would not be complete if you didn’t have regular contact with modern IT tools and gain experience in international communication — with us, your future is in safe hands!

Can you imagine a modern company running smoothly without IT? Neither can we! That’s why, during your 3-year apprenticeship, we’ll prepare you for all today’s and future IT challenges!

With us, you’ll learn how to advise our employees professionally, clarify concrete requirements regarding hardware and software systems in discussions, and realise these in tailor-made solutions.

We will not only show you how to plan, implement, and configure complex IT systems; you'll also learn how to train end users in operating them.

Over the course of your apprenticeship, you’ll become a genuine IT expert, so you can support users with application problems and complex queries as an important point of contact.

    Industrial-technical apprenticeship

Whether it’s an online giant, a metal workshop or a hospital: no company can operate without a warehouse — during your 3-year apprenticeship, you’ll work in different areas of our distribution logistics and become a sought-after specialist for almost any business.

With us, you will learn to receive, inspect and optimally store incoming goods so they are available exactly when needed.
Which goods, by which means of transport, at what time and by which route? We’ll show you how to plan transport perfectly, and also how to create all the required accompanying documents.

Of course, you’ll also learn to operate modern warehouse systems so that you are ideally prepared for work in a variety of warehouses.
The safety of our teams is our top priority: We’ll train you in all safety regulations and show you how to avoid accidents and create a safe working environment.

How does a piece of metal become a new vehicle frame, chassis, axle, or one of a thousand other items needed around the world every day? We’ll show you during your apprenticeship!

In the next 2 years, you’ll learn how to cut, shape and weld various metal sheets to produce all manner of components.
We’ll make you an absolute pro in using modern soldering and welding equipment, so you can join the parts you’ve made to create a complete assembly.

Of course, we will also show you how to read technical documentation and, based on that, select the appropriate work steps, tools and machines.
Since the parts you produce must meet all quality standards, you’ll learn in your training how to check your results, recognise faults by their characteristics and how you can best avoid them.

Whether in automotive, medical, or food production: these days, all branches of industry worldwide depend on a wide range of machines — we’ll show you how you can become an indispensable specialist!
But what does an industrial mechanic actually do?

Typically, they monitor production processes, identify and rectify errors or faults, and check the quality of manufactured products.
Over the course of your 3.5-year apprenticeship, our helpful teams will teach you everything there is to know about machines and manufacturing systems — including how to manufacture, set up and maintain them.

You’ll learn how to plan, control and optimise productive workflows from beginning to end so that important workpieces and components are produced at the end of the process.
Manual or machine-operated? During your training, you’ll master the most advanced manufacturing processes, be able to operate numerically controlled machines or installations almost in your sleep, and learn how to optimise programmes.

Wherever goods are produced, machine and plant operators are not far away — and with good reason, as without them and their expertise, production would grind to a halt.

During your 2-year apprenticeship, we’ll prepare you so that you can set up, modify and operate machinery and equipment independently and become an indispensable member of any production department.

In this context, we’ll naturally show you how to commission machinery and equipment (becoming more independent as you progress), check them for faults and maintain them.
You’ll also come to appreciate the value of good preparation, because you’ll experience first-hand how smoothly production can run when you thoroughly plan work processes and check machine functions.

At the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll not only have a thorough understanding of modern production but also know how to efficiently manage materials flow while keeping a close eye on quality.

As an essential link between industrial mechanics and industrial electronics, mechatronics technicians ensure that systems and equipment run smoothly — would you like to be part of it?

During your 3.5-year apprenticeship, you will gain extensive insights into electronics, mechanics, as well as information and control technology, and learn the details of how modern machines and systems work.

In this context, of course, we’ll also provide you with all the skills so that, after your training, you’ll be able to analyse, install, commission and maintain complex systems.

With us, you’ll not only learn how to identify technical faults, but also how to rectify problems independently.
With the programming skills you’ll acquire for production machinery and robots, you’ll be highly sought after!

At DHBW, the basics of business administration and applied computer science will be taught in a practical way, and the interaction with fellow students and lecturers will guarantee you’ll quickly learn various methods. Before long, you’ll be able to understand and analyse business decision-making processes holistically, for example.
